Description

Enjoy the spicy, buttery flavor of Wingstop Cajun Corn, a delicious air-fried corn on the cob recipe coated with a homemade Cajun seasoning blend. Perfect as a flavorful side dish or appetizer, this recipe combines tender, crisp corn pieces with a zesty, herb-infused butter sauce for an irresistible taste.

Ingredients

Scale

Corn and Cooking

  • 6 ears of corn
  • Oil spray (olive oil or avocado oil)

Cajun Butter Sauce

  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • 1.5 tablespoons Cajun seasoning

Cajun Seasoning Blend

  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • ¾ teaspoon dried thyme
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon brown sugar
  • ¾ teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to heat preference)
  • ¼ teaspoon cracked black pepper (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Corn: Husk and thoroughly clean each ear of corn. Cut the corn into 3-4 bite-sized pieces, approximately 1.5 inches long, depending on the length of the corn.
  2. Arrange in Air Fryer: Place the corn pieces in a single layer inside the air fryer basket. Lightly spritz the corn with oil spray to promote browning.
  3. Initial Cooking: Set the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) and cook for 5 minutes. Preheat the air fryer beforehand if your model requires it.
  4. Flip and Continue Cooking: Flip the corn pieces, spritz the other side with oil, and cook for an additional 5 minutes at 400°F. Continue cooking in 1-2 minute increments, flipping and rotating as needed, until the corn is golden brown. Total cooking time should be around 13-14 minutes.
  5. Make Cajun Butter: While the corn cooks, heat the butter in a large bowl in the microwave for 10-15 seconds until mostly melted. Stir in the Cajun seasoning until fully combined and smooth.
  6. Coat the Corn: Immediately transfer the hot corn from the air fryer to the bowl with the seasoned butter. Use a large spoon and a basting brush to toss and coat the corn evenly, making sure to get the seasoning into all crevices.
  7. Serve: Serve the Cajun corn warm with ranch dressing on the side for dipping to balance the spicy flavors.

Notes

  • Adjust cayenne pepper according to your preferred spice level. For less heat, reduce or omit.
  • Using an air fryer yields a crispy exterior while keeping the corn tender; alternatively, a grill or oven broiler can be used.
  • Leftover Cajun corn can be refrigerated and reheated, though serving fresh is best for optimal texture and flavor.
  • For a dairy-free version, substitute butter with vegan margarine or a plant-based oil-infused butter alternative.
  • Pair with grilled chicken or seafood for a complete Cajun-inspired meal.
