Ingredients
Scale
Crescent Dough
- 2 packages (8 oz each) refrigerated crescent roll dough
Filling
- 2 cups cooked turkey, shredded or chopped
- 1/2 cup cranberry sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella or Swiss cheese
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise or cream cheese
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
Optional Garnish
- Melted butter (for brushing)
- Sesame seeds (for sprinkling)
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prepare for baking.
- Prepare the Crescent Dough: Unroll both packages of crescent dough and arrange the triangles in a circular pattern on the baking sheet, slightly overlapping the edges to form a ring. Make sure the pointed ends face outward, creating a sunburst design.
- Make the Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded turkey, cranberry sauce, shredded cheese, mayonnaise (or cream cheese), Dijon mustard, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Stir well until the mixture is thoroughly combined.
- Assemble the Ring: Spoon the turkey filling onto the wide ends of each crescent dough triangle in the ring, forming a continuous circular mound. Carefully fold the pointed ends of the dough over the filling, tucking them underneath the base of the ring to seal it.
- Bake: Place the assembled crescent ring in the preheated oven and bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and cooked through.
- Cool and Serve: Remove the ring from the oven and allow it to cool for about 5 minutes to let the filling set. Slice and serve warm.
Notes
- Chill the crescent dough briefly before unrolling to prevent tearing and easier handling.
- Optional: Brush the top of the crescent ring with melted butter and sprinkle sesame seeds before baking for extra flavor and texture.
- You can assemble the ring ahead and refrigerate it unbaked for up to 8 hours before baking.
- Leftover slices freeze well for up to 1 month; reheat in the oven or toaster oven.
- Substitute turkey with cooked chicken, ham, roast beef, or sautéed mushrooms and spinach for vegetarian variation.
- Try different cheese varieties such as brie, cheddar, or gouda to customize the flavor.
- Add chopped nuts like pecans or walnuts to the filling for a crunchy texture.
