This Refreshing Peach Lemonade is a delightful summer beverage combining the natural sweetness of ripe peaches with the tangy brightness of freshly squeezed lemons. Chill it well, garnish with fresh peach slices, lemon wheels, and mint, and enjoy a thirst-quenching drink that’s simply irresistible on hot days.

Ingredients

Scale

Peach Puree

  • 68 large ripe peaches (about 3 pounds), washed, pitted, and diced
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

Simple Syrup

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup water

Lemonade Base

  • 1 1/2 cups freshly squeezed lemon juice (from 810 medium lemons, strained)

To Assemble and Serve

  • 46 cups cold water (for dilution)
  • Fresh peach slices (for garnish)
  • Fresh lemon wheels or wedges (for garnish)
  • Fresh mint sprigs (for garnish)
  • Ice cubes (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Peaches & Peach Syrup: Wash, pit, and dice 6-8 ripe peaches. In a medium saucepan, combine the diced peaches, 1/2 cup granulated sugar, 1/2 cup water, and 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice. Simmer over medium-low heat for 10-15 minutes until the peaches become very soft.
  2. Make & Cool Peach Puree: Remove the saucepan from heat. Mash the softened peaches thoroughly, then strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a large bowl to extract a smooth peach puree, discarding any solids. Allow the puree to cool completely to room temperature.
  3. Prepare Simple Syrup: In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup granulated sugar and 1 cup water. Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly until the sugar dissolves completely. Remove from heat and let it cool to room temperature.
  4. Prepare Lemonade Base: Juice 8-10 medium lemons to yield about 1 1/2 cups of fresh lemon juice. Strain the juice to remove seeds and pulp. In a large pitcher, combine the cooled simple syrup and strained lemon juice. Stir well to mix.
  5. Assemble Lemonade: Add the cooled peach puree to the lemonade base in the pitcher. Stir vigorously to fully combine the flavors. Begin by adding 4 cups of cold water; stir and taste. Gradually add more cold water, up to 6 cups total, until you reach the desired strength and sweetness.
  6. Chill & Serve: Refrigerate the peach lemonade for at least 30 minutes to ensure it is thoroughly chilled. Serve over plenty of ice cubes, garnished with fresh peach slices, lemon wheels, and mint sprigs. For a sparkling twist, replace some or all of the dilution water with sparkling water or club soda.

Notes

  • Choose ripe peaches for the best flavor and natural sweetness in your peach puree.
  • Adjust the sweetness by varying the amount of simple syrup or sugar in the peach puree to taste.
  • For a bubbly version, substitute some cold water with sparkling water or club soda before serving.
  • Straining the peach puree ensures a smooth texture, but you can skip this step for a more rustic, pulpy lemonade.
  • Keep the lemonade refrigerated and consume within 2-3 days for optimal freshness.
