Ingredients
Scale
Bread
- 2 Italian Rolls
Cheese
- 4 ounces Provolone cheese
Meats
- 4 ounces Ham (domestic)
- 4 ounces Genoa salami
- 4 ounces Capocollo ham
- 4 ounces Prosciutto
- 4 ounces Pepperoni (deli sliced)
Vegetables
- 1 head Iceberg lettuce
- 1 medium Red onion
- 1 large Tomato
Condiments & Seasoning
- 1 tbsp Extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tbsp Red wine vinegar
- 1 tsp Dried oregano
- ½ tsp Kosher salt
Instructions
- Slice the sub rolls in half – Carefully cut each Italian roll horizontally to create a base and top for your sandwich, making sure not to slice all the way through so the sandwich holds together.
- Prepare the vegetables – Chop and shred the iceberg lettuce finely, slice the tomato into even pieces, and thinly slice the red onion to add fresh layers to the sub.
- Layer the cheese and meats – Start the sandwich by evenly spreading the provolone cheese over the base of the roll. Next, layer the ham, Genoa salami, capocollo ham, prosciutto, and pepperoni evenly on top of the cheese, creating a hearty and flavorful meat layer.
- Add the vegetables – Top the meat layer with the thinly sliced onions, then add a layer of shredded iceberg lettuce and tomato slices for crunch and freshness.
- Dress the sub – Drizzle the extra virgin olive oil and red wine vinegar evenly over the stacked ingredients, then season with dried oregano and kosher salt to enhance all the flavors.
- Finish and serve – Place the top half of the Italian roll on the sandwich, press lightly to hold everything together, then cut the sub in half if desired. Serve immediately and enjoy your authentic Jersey Mike’s Italian sub!
