Ingredients
Scale
Matcha Mixture
- 3 tbsp hot water
- 1 ½ tsp pure matcha powder
- 1 cup milk of choice (2% milk recommended)
Cold Foam
- 2 tbsp heavy cream
- 2 tbsp raspberry syrup
- 1 tbsp whole milk
Strawberry Puree
- ¼ cup chopped fresh strawberries
- 1 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp cold water
Instructions
- Prepare Matcha: Add 3 tablespoons of water to a microwave-safe jar or glass and heat until boiling, about 30-45 seconds. Sift 1 ½ teaspoons of pure matcha powder into the hot water to remove clumps. Whisk thoroughly until the mixture is smooth and slightly foamy. Stir in 1 cup of your preferred milk (2% recommended) and set aside.
- Make Cold Foam: In a small glass or jar, combine 2 tablespoons of heavy cream, 2 tablespoons of raspberry syrup, and 1 tablespoon of whole milk. Use a milk frother to froth the mixture for 20-30 seconds until light and foamy. Set aside.
- Blend Strawberry Puree: Place ¼ cup chopped fresh strawberries, 1 tablespoon granulated sugar, and 1 tablespoon cold water into a high-speed blender. Blend until completely smooth. Pour the puree into a glass over ice.
- Assemble Drink: Slowly pour the prepared matcha milk over the strawberry puree to create a layered effect. Finally, spoon the raspberry cold foam on top. Serve immediately and enjoy your delicious iced double berry matcha.
Notes
- Use fresh, ripe strawberries for the best puree flavor.
- If a milk frother is unavailable, vigorously shake the cold foam ingredients in a tightly sealed jar or use a handheld whisk.
- Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less granulated sugar to the strawberry puree according to taste.
- For a vegan version, substitute dairy milk and cream with plant-based alternatives like oat or almond milk and coconut cream.
- Chilling the matcha mixture before assembling can enhance the layering effect.
