Popcorn Treat Base

  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 7 cups popped popcorn (about 1/3 cup kernels)
  • 50 regular size marshmallows
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 scoop cake batter protein powder

Instructions

  1. Pop the Popcorn. Using your preferred method—stovetop, microwave, or air popper—pop enough kernels to yield about 7 cups of popped popcorn. Set aside in a large bowl.
  2. Melt the Butter and Marshmallows. In a large saucepan over low heat, melt the 3 tablespoons of butter completely. Add the 50 marshmallows to the melted butter and stir continuously until the marshmallows are fully melted and the mixture is smooth.
  3. Flavor the Melted Mixture. Remove the saucepan from heat. Stir in 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract for enhanced flavor, then mix in 1 scoop of cake batter protein powder until evenly incorporated.
  4. Combine Popcorn and Marshmallow Mixture. Pour the melted marshmallow mixture over the prepared popcorn. Gently toss the popcorn to ensure every piece is evenly coated with the sweet mixture.
  5. Add Funfetti Sprinkles. Sprinkle funfetti evenly over the coated popcorn. Toss again carefully to distribute the colorful sprinkles throughout.
  6. Shape the Treats. Transfer the popcorn mixture onto a parchment-lined baking dish or sheet pan. Using a spatula or lightly cooking spray–coated hands, press the mixture firmly and evenly into the pan to create a flat, compact layer.
  7. Optional White Chocolate Drizzle. If desired, melt white chocolate and drizzle it over the top of the pressed popcorn treats. You can also add extra sprinkles on top to make it more festive.
  8. Let Treats Set. Allow the treats to cool and firm up at room temperature for about 30 minutes. Once set, cut into squares or break into clusters for serving. Enjoy your colorful, fun snack!
