Description

Frozen Greek Yogurt Peanut Butter Bites are deliciously creamy, protein-packed snack treats combining the richness of peanut butter with the tangy smoothness of whole-milk Greek yogurt. Lightly sweetened and freezer-friendly, these bite-sized delights are perfect for a guilt-free dessert, quick snack, or post-workout fuel. Easy to prepare and customizable with optional mix-ins like chocolate chips or nuts, they offer an indulgent flavor experience without excess calories, making them ideal for healthy eating and satisfying cravings.

Ingredients

Scale

Base Ingredients

  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt (whole-milk preferred for creaminess)
  • ⅓ cup creamy peanut butter
  • 2 Tbsp honey or maple syrup (optional, adjust for sweetness)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Optional Add-Ins

  • ¼ cup mini chocolate chips for a chocolate-peanut butter twist
  • 1 Tbsp chopped peanuts or crushed pretzels for crunch
  • ½ tsp cinnamon or 1 Tbsp cocoa powder for flavor variation

Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Freezer Tray: Line a baking sheet or shallow tray with parchment paper to prevent sticking. Have a tablespoon or small cookie scoop ready to portion the bites evenly.
  2. Mix the Base: In a medium bowl, combine Greek yogurt, creamy peanut butter, honey or maple syrup if using, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Stir thoroughly until the mixture is smooth and uniform with no visible peanut butter streaks.
  3. Portion & Add Mix-ins: Fold in any optional add-ins like mini chocolate chips, chopped peanuts, cinnamon, or cocoa powder if desired. Using the scoop or tablespoon, drop about 1 tablespoon-sized mounds onto the prepared tray, spacing them approximately 1 inch apart.
  4. Freeze Until Firm: Place the tray in the freezer for at least 1 to 2 hours, or until the yogurt bites are completely firm to the touch.
  5. Store & Serve: Once fully frozen, transfer the bites into a freezer-safe container or zip-top bag. Use parchment paper sheets to separate layers if stacking. When ready to enjoy, let the bites sit at room temperature for 2 to 3 minutes to soften for optimal texture and flavor.

Notes

  • Use natural peanut butter with no excess oil for best texture and flavor.
  • If the yogurt mixture is too loose, add 1-2 tablespoons of Greek yogurt or 1 tablespoon of cocoa or oats to thicken.
  • Swap peanut butter with almond butter or sunflower seed butter for nut-free options.
  • Try drizzling melted dark chocolate on top just before serving to elevate the dessert experience.
  • Whole-milk Greek yogurt is recommended for creaminess, but non-fat works with a firmer texture.
  • Store frozen bites in an airtight container for up to 2 months, best within the first month for flavor.
  • To make vegan or dairy-free, replace Greek yogurt with thick plant-based yogurt and use vegan peanut butter and chocolate.
  • Allow bites to soften a few minutes at room temperature before eating for best flavor and biteability.
