  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

A festive and creamy Eggnog Panna Cotta dessert topped with spiced Nutmeg Whipped Cream. This elegant no-bake treat combines the rich flavors of traditional eggnog with the silky texture of panna cotta, finished with a hint of warm nutmeg for a perfect holiday indulgence.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Panna Cotta:

  • 2 cups eggnog
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) unflavored gelatin
  • 3 tablespoons cold water

For the Nutmeg Whipped Cream:

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg (plus more for garnish)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Panna Cotta: In a small bowl, combine the cold water and gelatin and let it sit for 5 minutes to bloom. Meanwhile, heat the eggnog, heavy cream, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture is warm but not boiling. Remove the pan from heat and stir in the bloomed gelatin until fully dissolved. Pour the mixture evenly into serving glasses or molds, cover with plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 4 hours until set.
  2. Make the Nutmeg Whipped Cream: In a mixing bowl, combine heavy cream, powdered sugar, ground nutmeg, and vanilla extract. Use a hand or stand mixer to whip the mixture until soft peaks form. Keep the whipped cream chilled until ready to serve.
  3. Serve the Panna Cotta: If using molds, gently run a knife along the edges and dip the bottoms in warm water briefly to help release the panna cotta. Invert onto serving plates. Spoon the nutmeg whipped cream over the panna cotta and sprinkle with additional ground nutmeg for garnish.
  4. Enjoy: Serve the dessert chilled and enjoy the rich and festive flavors of Eggnog Panna Cotta with Nutmeg Whipped Cream.

Notes

  • Do not allow the eggnog mixture to boil when heating, as it can affect the texture.
  • Ensure gelatin is fully dissolved to avoid grainy panna cotta.
  • Refrigeration time is crucial for proper setting; do not rush the chilling process.
  • The nutmeg can be adjusted according to taste for more or less spice.
  • For easy removal, lightly oil the molds or use silicone molds.
