Easy Strawberry Fondue is a light, refreshing, and super easy dessert featuring a sweetened strawberry puree thickened with cornstarch and enhanced with maraschino cherry juice. Perfectly paired with a variety of dippers like angel food cake, brownies, bananas, and marshmallows, this fondue can be enjoyed warm or slightly cooled. Strawberry Fondue
- 23 oz container of frozen strawberries with sugar
- 2 tbsp maraschino cherry juice
- 2 tsp cornstarch
- 1 tbsp cold water
Homemade Whipped Cream (optional)
- 1 cup whipping cream
- ⅓ cup powdered sugar
- ¼ tsp almond extract
Instructions
- Prepare Strawberry Puree: Begin by placing the frozen strawberries in a food processor or blender and blend until completely pureed. Transfer this strawberry puree to a medium saucepan.
- Combine Cornstarch Mixture: In a small bowl, whisk together the cornstarch and cold water until smooth, then stir this mixture into the strawberry puree in the saucepan.
- Cook Fondue: Bring the strawberry mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring continuously. Cook for 1-2 minutes until the mixture thickens, then stir in the maraschino cherry juice before removing it from the heat. Allow to cool slightly for 5-10 minutes if desired before serving.
- Prepare Whipped Cream (Optional): In a large bowl, use an electric handheld mixer to beat the whipping cream, powdered sugar, and almond extract until stiff peaks form.
- Serve: Transfer the warm strawberry fondue to a serving bowl and serve with an assortment of dippers such as angel food cake, brownies, bananas, and marshmallows. Add a dollop of the homemade whipped cream either on top of the fondue or as a dip for the dipped items for an extraordinary flavor combination.
