Instructions
- Cook Noodles: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the egg noodles according to the package instructions. Drain well and set aside.
- Cook Bacon: Heat a large, deep skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chopped bacon and cook until crisp, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the bacon with a slotted spoon and transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain.
- Sauté Onions and Cabbage: In the same skillet with bacon fat, add the sliced onions and thinly sliced cabbage. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the vegetables are wilted and tender, about 8-10 minutes.
- Toss Everything Together: Return the cooked bacon to the skillet with the cabbage and onions. Add the cooked egg noodles and 2 tablespoons of butter. Toss everything together gently to combine and melt the butter throughout.
- Season and Serve: Season the mixture with kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste. Serve immediately while warm for the best flavor and texture.
