Description

A refreshing and healthy Dahi Sandwich made with hung curd and fresh vegetables, toasted to golden perfection. This quick and easy Indian-inspired sandwich is perfect for a light snack or breakfast, combining creamy yogurt and crunchy veggies for a delightful taste and texture.

Ingredients

Scale

Filling

  • 150 Grams Hung Curd (or Greek Yogurt)
  • ¼ Cup chopped Green Bell Pepper
  • ¼ Cup chopped Red Bell Pepper
  • ¼ Cup chopped Carrot
  • ¼ Cup chopped Cabbage
  • 2 Tablespoons Corn Kernels
  • 1 Green Chilli (finely chopped, optional)
  • ½ Teaspoon Salt
  • ¼ Teaspoon Black Pepper Powder

Sandwich

  • 68 Slices Sandwich Bread
  • 2 Tablespoons Softened Butter (as required)

Instructions

  1. Mix filling: In a large bowl, combine the hung curd, chopped green bell pepper, red bell pepper, carrot, cabbage, corn kernels, and finely chopped green chilli if using. Season with salt and black pepper powder. Mix everything thoroughly with a spoon until all ingredients are evenly incorporated. Set this filling aside.
  2. Stuff sandwich: Take a slice of sandwich bread and spread about 2 tablespoons of the prepared hung curd mix evenly over it. Place another slice of bread on top to form a sandwich.
  3. Spread butter: Take a teaspoon of softened butter and spread it evenly on both outer sides of the sandwich. This will help in toasting and give a rich flavor.
  4. Toast sandwich: Preheat a tawa or frying pan over high heat. Once hot, place the buttered sandwich in the center of the pan and immediately reduce the heat to medium. Toast the sandwich on each side for 2-3 minutes or until it turns golden brown and crisp. Use a spatula to press gently during toasting for a better crust.
  5. Serve: Remove the toasted sandwich from the pan. Slice it diagonally and serve hot for the best taste and crunch.

Notes

  • For best results, use hung curd or thick Greek yogurt to avoid sogginess.
  • The sandwich can be made spicier by adjusting the amount of green chilli or adding a pinch of chaat masala.
  • Use fresh and finely chopped vegetables to add crunch and color.
  • Butter can be substituted with olive oil or ghee as per preference.
  • This sandwich is best served immediately after toasting to maintain its crispiness.
