  • 150 grams Hung Curd (or Greek Yogurt)
  • ¼ cup chopped Green Bell Pepper
  • ¼ cup chopped Red Bell Pepper
  • ¼ cup chopped Carrot
  • ¼ cup chopped Cabbage
  • 2 tablespoons Corn Kernels
  • 1 Green Chilli, finely chopped (optional)
  • ½ teaspoon Salt
  • ¼ teaspoon Black Pepper Powder
  • 6-8 slices Sandwich Bread
  • 2 tablespoons Softened Butter (as required)

Instructions

  1. Step 1: In a bowl, combine hung curd, chopped green bell pepper, red bell pepper, carrot, cabbage, corn kernels, and green chilli if using. Add salt and black pepper powder. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly combined and set it aside.
  2. Step 2: Take one slice of sandwich bread and spread about 2 tablespoons of the curd-vegetable mixture evenly over it. Cover with another slice of bread to form a sandwich.
  3. Step 3: Apply a teaspoon of softened butter evenly on both sides of the sandwich.
  4. Step 4: Heat a tawa or frying pan over high heat. Once hot, place the sandwich on it and reduce the flame to medium. Toast each side for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and crisp.
  5. Step 5: Remove the sandwich from the pan, slice diagonally, and serve hot.

Tips & Variations

  • Use hung curd for a thicker, creamier filling. If unavailable, strain regular yogurt through a muslin cloth to remove excess water.
  • Add finely chopped fresh coriander or mint leaves to the filling for a fresh herbaceous flavor.
  • For a spicier version, increase the green chilli quantity or add a pinch of chaat masala to the filling.
  • Whole wheat or multigrain bread can be used instead of white sandwich bread for a healthier option.
  • Toast the sandwich in a sandwich maker if you prefer quicker and more even toasting.

Storage

Dahi sandwiches are best enjoyed fresh and hot for optimal taste and texture. If you need to store leftovers, keep the toasted sandwiches wrapped in foil or an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 day. Reheat on a pan or sandwich maker until warm and crisp again before serving.

How to Serve
