  • Author: Harper
  • Total Time: 55 minutes
  • Yield: 50 servings 1x

Description

This delicious Crockpot Candy recipe combines the rich flavors of dark and white chocolate chips with creamy peanut butter, salted roasted peanuts, caramel bits, and crunchy pretzels. Made easily in a slow cooker, it’s a perfect treat for parties or holiday celebrations that yields 50 bite-sized candies with minimal effort.

Ingredients

Scale

Chocolate and Nuts

  • 12 oz Dark Chocolate Chips
  • 12 oz White Chocolate Chips
  • 16 oz Salted Roasted Peanuts

Other Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup Creamy Peanut Butter
  • 3/4 cup Caramel Bits (half of an 11 oz package)
  • 3/4 cup Pretzels (broken into small pieces before measuring)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Ingredients: Gather dark chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, salted roasted peanuts, creamy peanut butter, caramel bits, and pretzels. Break pretzels into small pieces and set aside for later use.
  2. Start Melting Chocolate: Place dark chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, and salted peanuts into the crockpot. Cover with a kitchen towel and the crockpot lid to retain moisture and heat evenly.
  3. Cook on Low: Cook on low temperature for 30 minutes. Then remove the lid and towel and stir thoroughly to encourage even melting. If the chocolate is not yet fully melted, cover again and cook for an additional 15 minutes.
  4. Mix Candy: Once the chocolate is completely melted, turn off the crockpot or switch to the ‘keep warm’ setting. Stir in the creamy peanut butter until smooth, followed by mixing in the caramel bits and broken pretzel pieces to incorporate all ingredients evenly.
  5. Prepare for Setting: Line cookie sheets with parchment paper or mini cupcake liners. Use a medium cookie dough scoop to portion out the candy mixture onto the sheets. Two cookie sheets may be needed for all the candy.
  6. Chill Candy: Place the cookie sheets in the refrigerator for 1 hour to allow the candy to set and harden.
  7. Store and Serve: After chilling, store the candy at room temperature. If using parchment paper, wait 24 hours before packaging to ensure candies are fully set. Treats can stay uncovered a few days or be placed in an airtight container for longer freshness.

Notes

  • Do not skip covering the crockpot with a kitchen towel under the lid to prevent condensation dripping into the candy.
  • If you want to avoid stir repeatedly, check the chocolate at 30 minutes and again at 15 minutes intervals.
  • For easier portioning and tidy presentation, use mini cupcake liners instead of parchment paper.
  • This candy is best stored at room temperature but can be refrigerated if preferred for firmer texture.
  • You can substitute salted roasted peanuts for another nut, but adjust salt levels accordingly.
