  • Author: Harper
  • Total Time: 45 minutes

  • Diet: Vegetarian

Description

These 2 Ingredient Chocolate Truffles are an easy and delicious treat that can be made quickly with just sweetened condensed milk and cocoa powder. Perfect for a rich, fudgy dessert or a homemade gift, these truffles require minimal effort and are coated in cocoa powder for an extra chocolatey finish.

Ingredients

Scale

Truffle Mixture

  • 2/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/3 cup sweetened condensed milk

Coating

  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder (for rolling the truffles; optional)

Instructions

  1. Microwave sweetened condensed milk: Add the sweetened condensed milk into a large bowl and microwave it for 30 seconds to warm it slightly and make mixing easier.
  2. Add cocoa powder: Sift the 2/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder into the bowl with the warm sweetened condensed milk. Using a rubber spatula, stir thoroughly until the mixture is fully combined, scraping the sides and bottom of the bowl to incorporate all the cocoa powder evenly.
  3. Freeze the mixture: Use your hands to press the chocolate mixture into a flat disc shape. Wrap it tightly in plastic wrap and place it in the freezer for 30 minutes to set and firm up the chocolate.
  4. Slice the chocolate disc: Remove the wrapped chocolate disk from the freezer and unwrap it onto a cutting board. Cut into equal one-inch squares using a pastry cutter or sharp knife. If the mixture feels too sticky to cut cleanly, return it to the freezer for a bit longer to harden more.
  5. Roll into balls: Take each square piece and roll it between your palms to form smooth truffle balls. Place the finished balls on a plate ready for coating.
  6. Coat and serve: Roll each truffle ball in the optional cocoa powder to coat evenly. Serve immediately or store the truffles in the refrigerator to keep them firm and fresh.

Notes

  • Microwaving the condensed milk warms it to ensure smooth mixing with cocoa powder.
  • Freezing the mixture helps make it easier to cut and shape into truffles.
  • Rolling the truffles in cocoa powder adds a rich outer coating and prevents sticking.
  • Store truffles in the refrigerator for up to one week.
  • You can substitute sweetened condensed milk with a dairy-free version for a lactose-free variation.
